Murukulu | Janthikalu is a traditional indian snack which is favorite to my whole family prepared with rice flour, gram flour and other spices. We have this crunchy and delicious snack in the evenings with a cup of tea|coffee.

Cooking Time 1 - 1½ hour

Rice flour |
2 Cups
|
Gram flour (Besan) |
½ Cup
|
Vaamu (ajwain) |
1 Tbsp
|
Sesame Seeds |
2 Tbsps
|
Red chilli pwd |
½ Tbsp
|
Butter/Ghee |
2 Tbsps
|
Salt |
To Taste
|
Oil |
For Deep Frying
|
- Mix rice flour, besan, sesame seeds, vaamu, red chilli pwd and salt together. Add the melted ghee and mix.
- Add lukewarm water slowly to make soft dough. (like chapathi dough)
- Heat the oil for deep frying. Fill the murukulu presser and press into the oil into round circles.
- Deep fry until golden brown color.
- Remove them after frying on to an absorbent paper.
- When they are cooled, store them in air tight container.
