Pongal | Ven Pongal (Spicy Pongal) is a popular rice dish in south india which is prepared with rice and moong dal. Usually we have this for breakfasts or evening dinners.

Ghee |
2 Tbsps

Onion (chopped) |

Green Chillies |
5 to 6

Jeera |
1 tsp
|
Black Pepper(crushed) |
1 tsp
|
Curry leaves |

Process:
- In a pressure cooker add rice, moong dal, salt and water. Close the lid of the cooker and wait for 2 to 3 whistles.
- Mean while take little ghee in a pan, add jeera, curry leaves, black pepper. Fry for 1 min.
- Add chopped green chillies and chopped onion. Fry them until they are lightly brown in color.
- Mix it with rice and dal.
- Serve hot with Peanut Chutney/any other pickle.
