Coconut Burfi | Kobbari Louz

Coconut burfi | Kobbari Louz is a tasty and delicious sweet which is my favorite from my childhood. I learnt this recipe from my mom which is prepared from freshly grated coconut, sugar, milk, elachi, ghee and garnished with cashews.....
Cooking Time 1 - 1½ hour
Serves 12 - 15 Persons

Freshly grated Coconut
2 Cups
2 Cups
4 Cups
Elachi Powder
1 Tsp
1 Tbsp

  • Take a deep bottomed pan and fry the grated coconut for 5 min to avoid the smell of coconut.
  • Now add 4 cups of milk to the grated coconut and boil for 15 min on a medium flame.(Stirring in between)
  • Add the sugar & boil them on a medium flame until the milk dries up. Stir constantly to prevent any sticking.
  • When the mixture becomes thicker add 1 tsp elachi powder. Turn off the heat.
  • Fry cashews in ghee separately and add them to the coconut mixture.
  • Let it cool for 10 min and mold then in the form of a laddoo.
  • Store them in an air-tight container & can be refrigerated for longer use.
